CD production

CD Duplication or CD replication – what’s the difference?

We can manufacture your CDs either by duplication (burned CD-Rs) or by pressing. The right option depends on what the CDs are for and what result you expect.

CD duplication (burned CD-Rs) are the more affordable option. This option is especially suitable for smaller runs, promotional use, demo releases, or internal purposes. However, burned CDs cannot offer the same long-term stability and compatibility as pressed discs. Data is written onto a finished CD-R disc using a laser. We use professional-grade Verbatim media.

CD replication (pressed CDs) is the highest-quality and most reliable solution. This is the same technology used for professional music releases by major bands and record labels. First, we create a master from your supplied data, and then individual CD copies are produced from it in the pressing plant. CD replication provides maximum compatibility with players, a professional finish, and is ideal for official releases, retail & event sales. We replicate CDs from as few as 30 copies.

Simply put:
For promo use, small runs, and lower budgets, we recommend CD duplication.
For a final album, retail, and a professional result, we recommend CD replication.

How do I deliver the contents of a CD for making copies?

The basic prerequisite for making copies is the first piece of the CD, which serves as the master. During the ordering process, you can choose one of the delivery methods - we accept the documents after the order is complete.

We accept the following form of masters:

Physical media CD-R

This is a standard burned CD-R disc in CD Audio (music CD) or CD-ROM (data CD) format.
Deliver one such carrier physically to our premises by courier service (Parcel in hand or at least by Registered mail). We recommend to deliver two carriers (original + copy).
We also accept digital forms of masters in the form of so-called image. Please consult your sound master who will know exactly how to convert the audio tracks into the appropriate form. However, you can also create the image yourself using specialised software, which can be found here, for example.

ISO image

An ISO is a file containing a digital copy of the data on an optical disc. Once downloaded, you should be able to burn the physical media exactly as you require - including CD text, ISRC codes, etc. - without too much trouble.
If you require CD Audio burning, the image must be in CUE/BIN format. This consists of a total of 3 files: *.cue, *.bin, *.cdt. For a data disc (CD-ROM), this is a single *.iso file.

DDP image

This format is a bit more complicated, but most recording studios will create it for you on request. The cheapest and easiest to use software for creating DDP images can be found here

Pack the images into ZIP or RAR archive files and upload them to this repository: https://azcd.filemail.com/. Include the order number, title or client name in the description to correctly identify your submissions.

Separate WAV/AIFF/MP3 tracks

You can upload songs to the storage in WAV or AIFF files (16 bit resolution, 44.1 kHz sampling rate). MP3 is not ideal, so use it only if necessary.
Individual tracks must be labeled as follows: 01_title-writers.wav, 02_title-writers.wav, 03_title-writers.wav...etc. The titles are always without diacritics. Supply the ISCR in a text file.

We'll create a master for you, including pauses between songs, and add CD lyrics and ISRC if necessary. We'll upload the result to a repository where you can download and approve it, or request further edits.

We do not interfere with the sound of individual tracks and do not modify them in any way. Preparing the master has no effect on the quality, volume or length of the tracks. Our work consists only in setting up the disc in the correct CD Audio (Red Book) or audio + video track in Enhanced CD (Blue Book) format.
Pack the individual songs into archive ZIP or RAR files and add a completed tracklist (sample tracklist download here). Upload the finished archive file to this repository: https://azcd.filemail.com/ Include the order number, title or client name in the description to properly identify your submissions.

Download card - what is it?

Each CD will have a card with a unique code that allows the owner of that particular CD to download an mp3 of the entire CD to their computer or phone, and only once.

The owner of the CD enters the address on the card: www.www.azcd.cz/ download-album and is prompted to enter the code on the card

After verification of the code, a link to download the ZIP archive file with all mp3 files will appear on the screen. All mp3 files contain ID3 tags including the cover page. Just unzip the archive file and play the mp3 files in the player.

The code used is then blocked after 120 minutes. During these 120 minutes, it is possible to perform one more download, e.g. if a failure occurs during the first download process and the ZIP archive file is corrupted. After this second download, the code is immediately and permanently degraded.

The price in the configurator includes data storage rental and download support for 12 months. Each additional 12 months is charged at 18€ incl. VAT.
You don't have to worry about extensions, we will remind you by email before the storage period expires.

How do I supply print data for CD printing and printing booklets and paper sleeves?

To send print data, please use this repository: https://azcd.filemail.com and include the order number, title or client name in the description to correctly identify your documents.

Files must be in PDF format.

  • The PDF file should contain print data in CMYK colour mode and have a 300 dpi raster.
  • Templates for preparing 1:1 print data can always be found in the description of the selected vinyl package type.
  • Templates for printing can be downloaded here:
  • If you select "Check print data" on your order, we will check all the materials you send us in detail. We will inform you of any ambiguities, problems or possible malfunctions and consult with you on the next course of action.

Other recommendations:

  • Convert all fonts in the print rate to curves. Printing the fonts will be sharper and you will also prevent the print data from being returned for missing fonts. The minimum font size is 7 points for positive printing, 8 points for negative printing. Create the black font only in 100% K and set it to overprint
  • The bleed is 3 mm - without bleed you cannot print
  • The smallest line thickness is 0.2 mm.
  • The colour mode for printing is CMYK. RGB is not accepted, so always check this before sending your data. For 1-5 color printing, the color mode is determined by the Pantone color gamut.
  • The Pantone Machine System is the range of colours listed in the swatch - you define the colour for printing by the number listed next to the colour you select.
  • Don't place any lines in the graphic design that delimit objects that are not to be printed, remove drawing lines and templates, and supply only the material actually intended for printing. Everything that includes the data you supply will appear in the final product.
Templates for graphics - CD

To make it easier to prepare graphics for our products, you can download a template pack that includes the following formats: PDF, AI, INDD & IDML in 1:1 scale so you can choose the most suitable one for your graphics software.

The package also includes one PDF file marked as a plot, which we recommend you to view. This file contains the detailed information needed to prepare your graphic as well as the exact dimensions, which you can easily find in it.

Pay close attention to this file to ensure that your graphics are properly prepared for printing.

What print data control should I select in the calculator for CD production?

In the second step of our calculators (Additional parameters) you will find the option: "Print data delivered and wanted" with the following parameters:

Basic Check

Select this option if the print data was processed by a printing professional. That is, someone who regularly (at least once a week) prepares documents for printing in offset printers, who has done typesetting and printing of books, brochures, newspapers, magazines, posters or advertising flyers.

Detailed Check

Select this option if you process print data yourself and you are not a professional in the field of printing, or if you have an agreed graphic designer who is also not a professional in the field of printing (i.e. does not regularly - at least once a week - prepare documents for printing in offset printers).
Beware: a web graphic designer, video editor or photographer (even a professional one) are certainly experts in visual style, but they may not be experts in polygraphy.

When selecting this parameter, we will take all the materials you provide for printing and check them in detail in terms of printing standards (dimensions, bleeds, raster, colour modes, use of fonts and their settings for correct printing, placement and quality of embedded logos, etc.).
The result of the check is a clear list including the previews set in the templates. You can see the almost complete result and discover any ambiguities, problems or possible malfunctions in the provided documents. Based on this output, you can make complete corrections and fine-tuning of the print data for a perfect result and we can also consult with you afterwards for further corrections and fine-tuning.  Sometimes corrections can't be made because the source data was already incorrect (for example, a scan of a photo or drawing) and you just need to find a process to eliminate any printing deficiencies as much as possible.

You have two controls. The first - based on its output and any consultation with us, you will make corrections. Second - you supply the corrected print data for checking and the result should be approval for production.
In case your correction of the print data is insufficient, incomplete and if other new, previously unseen errors appear, you will be provided with another list of errors to correct. This additional check or checks are then charged in accordance with the terms and conditions, namely 22€ incl. VAT for each check.

Perform inspection including digital proofing

This option is the same as the previous one (Perform Check) with the addition of output in the form of a digital proof from approved and already correct print data.
The aim of proofing is to present you with the print data physically (on paper) and allow you to check the colour and appearance before printing.
This proof can reveal any discrepancies in colour (of backgrounds, photographs, logos etc.) with your idea and prevent any unpleasant surprises that may occur after the final prints are delivered.
Digital proofs are supplied in A4 or A3 formats depending on the size of the ordered printed materials. The maximum number of proofs included in the price of the on-line calculator is 2x A3 pages. In the case of larger print data (e.g.: digipack + booklet 16 pages) we select critical areas after discussion with you and have a certified proof prepared for them (we know from experience that this range is usually sufficient). However, if you need to make a larger number of proofs (either because of the scope of the print data or your request), we will agree with you an individual price.

Processing of print data on the basis of supplied documents

This option simplifies your print data preparation to the maximum. Because you have a clear idea of how you want your CD, vinyl or cassette cover and printing to look like, just let us know and we will do exactly what you need, including adhering to all the necessary parameters for a perfect print output.
You will deliver all photos, drawings and logos in files (eps, tiff, pdf or jpg), selected fonts (should be opentypes) and all texts in DOC or TXT document. Next, you can write your idea in an email (e.g. like this: page 1. photo xxx.jpg + text :"......."; page 2. text:"........."; etc.) or simply in Word, Photoshop, Zonerphoto or other software that allows easy and fast visualization of your idea, create preview pages without complicated solution of some parameters, and send them to us as instructions.

Upon receipt of the delivered documents, we will check their applicability and in case of any uncertainties or missing components, we will contact you. Once we have everything together, we will begin the creation process, called typesetting, and send you the result in the form of PDF files for proofreading. This process typically takes 48 - 72 hours from the time all documents are approved.

Based on your proofreading, we will refine the typesetting into the final form. The subject of proofreading is the correction and fine-tuning of texts, evaluation of the photos used and the overall colour scheme. During proofreading, the structure of the assignment cannot be changed in terms of changing the number of pages, their layout, changing the type of cover, etc. Such a possible change would mean so-called extra work and an adjustment of the quotation.
Any second, third and further proofreading is also charged: 22 € incl. VAT, or 49 €/hour incl. VAT according to the complexity of further work.
The price listed in the calculator also does not include the work associated with editing photos, searching them in databanks, editing logos and fonts, etc.

How to place a production order?

Select the desired product in the production calculator and the price will be calculated based on the information you enter. Place the product thus created and priced into the shopping cart.

Select your preferred payment and shipping method from the menu. Finally, fill in your billing information, including the delivery address if it does not match your billing address.
Send your order. And that's it!

You will receive an order confirmation and a proforma invoice in your email. If you have chosen to pay by invoice, you must make the payment in your online banking. If you made payment by card or bank transfer directly after ordering, do not pay anything. The proforma invoice is proof of payment.
In case of any questions or uncertainties, please contact us by phone or write your question to info@azcd.cz

How do I pay for my order?

After calculating the price and adding it to the cart, you choose the payment method - by card, by PayPal or invoice payment by bank transfer.

For each payment made, you will be issued a receipt according to the type of order and product. For production orders, you will first be issued a Proforma invoice - a non-tax document, for payments made by card or bank transfer the same invoice with a variable symbol and account number for the transfer. The production is always accounted for on the Invoice - Tax Document, where the VAT is also calculated and broken down. If you need an Advance Tax Document, please let us know in advance, e.g. by adding this request to the order notes.

If you are making a payment by bank transfer in your online banking, do not forget to include the variable symbol.

If your order is not paid, it is considered invalid.

If your card payment or quick bank transfer has failed, please email us with your order number - we will find a solution quickly.

We are VAT payers. For export outside the Czech Republic within the EU, we issue invoices with 0% VAT to VAT payers.

If you want to invoice production to another company, such as a sponsor or publisher, enter their address as the ordering address and your address as the shipping address. This information can also be included in the notes of the order you place. It is not possible to reverse the Invoice - Tax Document to another individual or legal entity.

Where do I upload the documents for the CD production order?

After the order has been placed, you will receive a confirmation of your order to the e-mail address you entered.

To send production documents (print data and audio content), please use this repository: https://azcd.filemail.com and include the order number, title or client name in the description to correctly identify your documents. The order will not be processed until you deliver the production documents.

The production documents must be delivered within 48 hours of the order being placed. If the materials are not delivered within this time, we reserve the right to change the final price to reflect the production cost situation at the time of approval of your production materials.

What are the shipping dates for CD production?

In general, we can say that for CD production the deadline for shipment is 5 - 14 days from the approval of the production documents depending on the type of packaging. The more complex the packaging the longer the deadline.

In the configuration of each product, you see the "Estimated shipping date", which is set to:

  • if on the day of ordering you deliver the documents for production (CD content and print data), and these documents pass our contorl - they will be approved for production - the deadline specified in the configurator is valid
  • if it is necessary to make corrections to the documents on your side, the shipping date will be postponed by the number of days that were necessary to correct the documents - we count days including weekends and holidays

Once the production documents have been approved , you will be notified by email with a new actual shipping date.

Dispatch means that the goods are handed over to the carrier or ready for personal collection on the day of dispatch.

Here is a sample where you can find the "Estimated shipping date" item in each of our configurators.

What should I do if I am not satisfied with the delivered product?

We pay attention to every detail to ensure that our products meet your expectations. However, despite all our care, something may not be quite right. And because we want you to be satisfied with our services, you have the option to return the product.

Don't forget! Complaints must be submitted within 7 days of delivery so that the problem can be resolved as quickly as possible and we have sufficient documentation from production. We know that dealing with complaints is not pleasant, so we want to make it as easy as possible for you.

  • To submit a complaint, please use the form in our repository here: https://azcd.filemail.com/
  • In the Subject field, enter the order number or title name and feel free to add the text COMPLAINT.

We would also appreciate it if you could provide as much information as possible to help us assess your complaint quickly, such as:

  • A brief description of why you are dissatisfied.
  • Photographs of the product you are complaining about.
  • Video or audio recordings, if relevant.
  • Your proposed solution to the complaint.

Once we receive all the necessary information from you, we will assess your complaint within a few days and let you know the outcome. If the fault is clearly on our part, we will immediately take care of the remedy.

By law, we have 30 days to process a complaint, but we do our best to complete the entire process as quickly as possible. Your satisfaction is our priority!

How Vinyl Records Are Made – Step by Step

Holding a vinyl record of your own music is an amazing feeling. You might be wondering what it actually takes to get the finished record into your hands. If this is your first time, the process might seem complicated — but don’t worry, you can handle it even without prior experience. And we’ll guide you from start to finish. Here’s an overview:

1. Choosing Your Specs

First, decide what your record should look like. We’ll help you choose based on your content and the length of your recording:

Format

12" is ideal for full albums (up to 2 x 23 minutes – side A/B). 10" and 7" work best for singles or shorter recordings. Want to know more about playing time? See our FAQ article: How much music fits on a vinyl record?

Playback Speed

33⅓ RPM is standard for LPs. 45 RPM is often used for EPs or singles — it allows for wider groove spacing and better sound quality, though it shortens the total playtime.

Vinyl Colour

You can choose classic black, coloured vinyl, transparent variants, or more eye-catching options (e.g., “splatter”, “marble”). Check out our colour options here. We also offer picture discs — vinyls with your own graphic design printed on the surface.

Sleeve

Most common is a simple full-colour printed cardboard sleeve (outer sleeve). Another popular option is a gatefold sleeve — a folded cover with a spine and an extra panel, also printed in full colour.

Tip: Not sure? Use our price calculator to explore all the options and see the exact price right away.

2. Placing Your Order & Uploading Materials

Once you've selected all the specs (e.g., 12” vinyl with printed sleeve), just fill in the order form. You’ll then receive a confirmation email with a link to upload your production files.

What we need from you:
- Print-ready files in PDF format (labels, covers, booklets). See our FAQ: How to submit print files for the production of records?
- Audio files for each side of the record. See our FAQ: How to submit your audio for vinyl pressing?

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

We need both your files and payment within 48 hours of placing the order. Without this, we can't begin production.
In case of major delays (e.g. weeks or months), we reserve the right to update the final price based on changes in material, energy, or service costs.

Recommendation: Vinyl production has several stages, some of which (like matrix cutting or drying printed labels) take time. If you already have the audio and label designs ready, go ahead and place the order. You can note in the form that your cover/booklet/inner sleeve designs will follow later (e.g. in 10 days). That way, production can start immediately while you finalize the visuals.

3. File Checks & Test Pressing

After we receive your materials and payment, we’ll review everything based on your order. If everything checks out, we’ll confirm your shipping date. If not, we’ll send back notes and suggestions for fixes.

Print File Check

You choose the level of check in the calculator:
- Basic checking – we only check file format, dimensions, and orientation.
- Detailed check – we also check colours, bleed, fonts, etc.
- Processing of print data on the basis of supplied documents – you give us your vision for the label and sleeve, and we’ll prepare the print files for you, ensuring all technical specs are met.

Tip: If you're not a professional graphic designer, we recommend selecting “Detailed check”. See our FAQ: What print data control should I select in the calculator for record production?

Audio File Check

If your material was mastered by a professional studio, we recommend consulting with them directly.

If you did the mastering yourself, you can order a technical audio check from us. We’ll review side length, loudness, stereo image, dynamics, etc. Learn more in our FAQ: What are the general rules for vinyl mastering?

If everything’s OK, we can make a test pressing on request — four sample records you can review before the full pressing. More info: What is the test pressing service?

Not sure what level of checks you need? We’re happy to advise.

4. Pressing & Printing

Once your files are approved:
- We press your records
- Print and prepare the sleeves
- Assemble and pack everything

Production usually takes 5–6 weeks from approval of all materials (audio and print).

If you include a test pressing in your order, the timeline depends on how quickly you give us the green light.
Test pressings are usually ready in week 4, with final delivery about 3–4 weeks after your approval.

Note on quantity:
Due to quality control, there may be a slight variation in the number of units delivered. Some pieces may be discarded due to defects during pressing, printing, or packing. Typical manufacturing tolerance is 2–15% — the higher your order volume, the smaller the deviation. This may affect the final invoiced quantity.

5. Delivery

We’ll ship the finished records to your chosen address.
- Packed carefully to avoid damage
- We can also ship to multiple addresses or directly to distributors

Delivery speed depends on the courier, but records should arrive within a few days of shipping.

Any Questions?

Just reach out — we’ll help you choose the right options, prepare your files, and plan the production timeline.
We’ll explain everything clearly and without confusing jargon.
We’re here to make sure your first vinyl release is an experience, not a headache — and we promise to give your music the care it deserves.

How to submit print files for the production of records?

What print data control should I select in the calculator for record production?

This additional check or checks are then charged in accordance with the terms and conditions, namely CZK 495 incl. VAT for each check.

What are the general rules for vinyl mastering?

Vinyl mastering involves a series of processes that impact the final sound. Here are some key recommendations:

  • Respect groove length per side – extreme durations lower the volume and dynamics.
  • Track placement affects final sound; avoid placing quiet tracks at the beginning.
  • Avoid excessive stereo processing, as some modern digital techniques do not translate well to vinyl.
  • Stereo phase below 200 Hz should be zero to prevent bass loss.
  • Filter out frequencies below 40 Hz and above 16 kHz.
  • Vinyl benefits from higher dynamics than digital releases – target loudness is -9 to -19 dB LUFS.

For individually cut vinyl (from 1 unit), the following durations apply:

Playback speed 33⅓ rpm

5.5 min

Playback speed 45 rpm

It is possible to slightly exceed the specified playing time (e.g. + 1 minute – depending on the musical style), but due to the technology of cutting small loads we do not recommend it. The playing times are shorter than for pressed records, and this is because, unlike cutting the die for pressed records, this technology does not have a function to "calculate the feed of the cutting head". With this technology, depending on the instantaneous volume of the audio material, the spacing between the grooves can be variably adjusted during the actual matrix cutting process, and this allows longer audio material to be placed on one side of the vinyl. For cut records, it is necessary to work with a fixed groove spacing, which is determined by the loudest passage of the supplied audio material.

What is the test pressing service?

A test pressing is a trial version of a vinyl record produced before the start of full production. This step allows the customer to verify that the sound and physical production meet their expectations and identify any minor imperfections, such as issues in mixing or mastering that could affect the final production.

Why is the test pressing important?

- Sound quality control: Listening to the test pressing allows you to check if the sound matches the original intention and whether any unwanted changes or distortions have occurred.
- Possibility of adjustments: If necessary, you can modify the final settings based on the test pressing before producing the entire series.
- Risk elimination: The test pressing helps prevent unexpected issues with sound or the appearance of the record.

How long does it take to produce a test pressing?

The test pressing production usually takes 2–4 weeks, but additional shipping time should be considered. After delivery, the customer has sufficient time to listen and provide feedback. The overall delivery time of the order may be extended by the duration of the test pressing process.

What is included in the test pressing price?

The price includes four vinyl copies for listening and quality control, as well as shipping costs. Test pressings are usually provided in black, without a center label and outer sleeve – only the raw vinyl.

What if I want to provide new audio?

If you decide to supply new audio based on the results of the test pressing, a new matrix cutting must be performed, which is charged according to the current price list. This additional step may also affect the final delivery time.

Download card – what is it?

Each vinyl will have a card with a unique code that allows the owner of that particular vinyl to download an mp3 of the entire vinyl to their computer or phone, and only once.

Each additional 12 months is charged at CZK 18€ incl. VAT.
You don't have to worry about extensions, we will remind you by email before the storage period expires.

How to supply music for cassette production?
  • Save music data in .wav or .aiff format at a minimum quality of 44.1 kHz and 16 bits; higher quality is better
  • Ideally, divide the data into two files, which will represent side A and side B on the tape. The files must be clearly labeled A and B so that we can sort them correctly.
  • If you send us individual songs, please attach a text file with a list of songs in the correct order, their length and the length of the pauses between each song. Otherwise, we will automatically insert a two-second pause between songs. This document preparation service is charged at 55€ + VAT.

Our tip: When dividing an album into two sides of a cassette, we recommend making side A slightly longer than side B. This will allow you to listen to the cassette without interruption.

To deliver all production files (print data and MC content), use this service https://azcd.filemail.com/ and in the "Subject" field, enter the order number, title or customer name so that the documents can be assigned correctly.

How do I select the correct tape length in our configurator? (Playback time of the cassette)

The correct tape length depends on the duration of the recording on the final cassette. It is important to divide the recording into two parts – side A and side B.

Tape length designations
Cassettes are labelled C20, C30, C60, etc. This number represents the total recording time on both sides of the cassette. For example, a C60 cassette has a maximum recording capacity of 60 minutes, or 30 minutes per side.

How do we adjust the final tape length in practice?
The tape length is adjusted to the longer side of the recording to avoid interruptions. When splitting an album, we recommend making side A slightly longer than side B to ensure smooth playback without interruptions. The tape length is precisely adjusted to the recording. For example, with a C40 cassette (20 minutes per side) and a 17-minute recording on side A, the tape length is adjusted accordingly. You don't have to worry about long silences on the tape. We always end the recording in such a way as to avoid unnecessary gaps, guaranteeing a smooth listening experience.

What is the test tape service?

A test tape is a sample version of a cassette that is produced before full production begins. It allows you to ensure that both the sound and the physical execution meet your expectations and to identify any minor defects – for example, in the mixing, mastering or print data.

Why is the test tape important?

  • Checking sound quality: By listening to the test tape, you can ensure that the sound matches your original concept and that no unwanted changes or distortions have occurred.
  • Opportunity for adjustment: If necessary, final changes can be made before full production begins.
  • Minimising risks: The test tape helps to avoid unexpected problems with the sound or appearance of the cassettes.

How long does it take to produce a test tape?

It usually takes 1–2 weeks to produce a test tape, and shipping time must also be taken into account. After delivery, you will have plenty of time to listen to it and give your feedback. Please note that the total delivery time for your order may be extended by the time required for the test tape.

What is included in the price of a test tape?

The price of the test tape includes 3 cassettes in the final version according to your order.

What should you do if you want to make changes after receiving the test tapes?

If you receive your test tape and wish to make changes, please inform us as soon as possible. If you submit new or revised files (e.g. updated audio files or changed print data), further checks will be necessary. These additional services are subject to a charge in accordance with the current price list. Please also note that such changes may extend the overall delivery time of your order.

Each vinyl will have a card with a unique code that allows the owner of that particular vinyl to download an mp3 of the entire vinyl to their computer or phone, and only once.

The owner of the CD enters the address on the card: www.www.azcd.cz/ download-album and is prompted to enter the code on the card

Templates for graphics - cassettes

To make it easier to prepare graphics for our products, you can download a template package that includes the following formats: PDF, AI, PSD, INDD & IDML in 1:1 scale so you can choose the most suitable one for your graphics software.

The package also includes one PDF file marked as a drawing, which we recommend you review. This file contains detailed information needed to prepare your graphic, as well as precise dimensions that you can easily find there.

Pay attention to this file to ensure that your graphics will be properly prepared for printing.

You can find all the templates for graphics here on this page.

How do I supply print data for J-card printing?

Files must be in PDF format.

  • The PDF file should contain print data in CMYK color mode and have a 300 dpi raster.
  • If you select "Perform print data check" when placing an order, we will check all the materials you have sent in detail. We will inform you of any ambiguities, problems or possible malfunctions and consult with you about the next steps.

Other recommendations:

  • Convert all typefaces to curves. The font will print sharper and you will also avoid returning print data due to the absence of a font. The minimum font size is 7 points for positive printing, 8 points for negative printing. Create black font only at 100% K and set it to overprint.
  • The bleed is 3 mm – you cannot print without a bleed.
  • The smallest line thickness is 0.2 mm.
  • The color mode for printing is CMYK. We do not accept RGB, so always check this before sending data.
  • Do not place any lines in the graphic design that delimit objects that are not to be printed, remove lines from drawings and templates, and only provide material that is actually intended for printing. Everything that is included in the data you provide will appear in the final product.
How do I supply print data for cassette printing?

If you are not sure about the printing preparation for your cartridges, we recommend that you select the option: "Check print data" when placing your order, and we will check the documents you sent in detail. We will inform you of any ambiguities, problems or possible malfunctions and consult with you about the next steps.

Full-color label printing

1/ To prepare files for label printing, download the correct template here
2/ Set your graphics software's working space to CMYK and a raster of 300 dpi. We do not accept RGB files.
3/ The bleed of the graphic design must always be 3 mm - we cannot start printing without a correct bleed, please keep this in mind.
4/ Try to stick to the recommended font size of 7 points for positive text and 8 points for negative text.
5/ All black letters should be created in black only (100% K) - not in CMYK. There is a great method to achieve the best printing result of black letters, which is to add an overprint parameter to all these black letters - we recommend this.
6/ The line thickness in inserted objects, logotypes and fonts should not be thinner than 0.2 mm.
7/ Check that the font(s) used are intended for printing and not just for video or web graphics. For correct printing results, it is better to convert all letters and logotypes to curves.
8/ Hide the template in the final design and export this design to a PDF file in CMYK color mode, without the template.

Black or white printing on the surface of the cartridge

1/ To prepare files for label printing, download the correct template here
2/ Set your graphics software's working space to CMYK and a raster of 300 dpi. We do not accept RGB files.
3/ Try to stick to the recommended font size of 7 points
4 / For this type of printing, it is very important that fonts and objects are created only in black (100 K%), not in CMYK. This applies to both black and white printing. If you do not follow this rule, we cannot print cassette covers.
5/ The line thickness in inserted objects, logotypes and fonts should not be thinner than 0.2 mm.
6/ Check that the font(s) used are intended for printing and not just for video or web graphics. For correct printing results, it is better to convert all letters and logotypes to curves.
7/ The supplied PDF file should not contain any background - i.e. transparent / transparent background.
8/ Hide the template in the final design and export your design to a PDF file in CMYK color mode without the template. (If everything is fine, all fonts and objects will remain in 100% K in the exported PDF file with a transparent background).

Full-surface cassette printing - full color with or without white in the background

1/ To prepare files for label printing, download the correct template here
2/ Set your graphics software's working space to CMYK and a raster of 300 dpi. We do not accept RGB files.
3/ Try to stick to the recommended font size of 7 points for positive text and 8 points for negative text.
4/ The line thickness in inserted objects, logotypes and fonts should not be thinner than 0.2 mm.
5/ Check that the font(s) used are intended for printing and not just for video or web graphics. For the correct printing result, it is better to convert all letters and logotypes to curves.
6/ Hide the template in your final design and export this design to a PDF file as follows:

  • one PDF file with the target full-color design for printing in CMYK color mode
  • one PDF file only white background design (if required) in 100% K

make the template visible and export one PDF file as a preview of your design in the template to make sure everything is in the correct position and scale and we see your intent

If you are creating your graphic design in Photoshop, you can provide one PSD file with three layers and a transparent/transparent background:

  • layer: target full-color design for printing
  • layer: white base layer (if necessary) in white
  • layer with the template placed to make sure everything is in the correct position and scale and we see your intention.
